The Changing High Street

You will have already received details of the joint NABMA/ATCM One-Day Conference in January.  NABMA is delighted to have the opportunity of again working with ATCM and we look forward to a successful event.  The programme for the Conference will appeal equally to both town centre managers and market managers.  In addition to the headline issues affecting planning, Mary Portas and pedlars and street trading, we will have presentations from Blackburn about their new market development and Bolton who have introduced a loyalty card in the markets.  There will also be the Market of the Year presentations which is always a highlight of the Conference.  We have reduced delegate fees again to help our members attend the event and we think this is likely to be one of the best value Conferences around in 2012.  Make sure you get your booking in early to take advantage of a further discount.

Market of the Year 2012

Entry forms have now been despatched for this year’s competition.  We are hoping for even more entries than last year.  What a way to start 2012 by being named Market of the Year!  Get your entries in as early as possible.

Institute of Place Management

We are moving towards launching the Diploma of Markets Administration in 2012.  We want to support candidates who want to take the Diploma and we will shortly be announcing what financial help is available to candidates who will be taking the course in 2012.

Retail Survey

We recently sent out the full report on the retail survey that was undertaken in the early part of this year.  This is something that will help the markets industry generally and with this in mind we are intending to repeat the survey on an annual basis.  Look out for more details in 2012.
